FAQs

Program coordinators have the responsibility to complete only one task on this site, that is to submit the Program Coordinator's Ranking List on or before the day of matching.  This form is self explanatory.  It requires the following four individual pieces of information:  the name of your site, the number of positions, your program identification number (issued by ORMS) and your choices of candidates.  As a check as to the authenticity of the list submitted, you should receive an e-mail confirmation of your ranking list submission within 24 hours.  If you do not receive notification of receipt, the information in the receipt is incorrect or if you receive notification of receipt but have not filed your matching form, you should contact ORMS immediately.

Program coordinators' ranking lists must be received by ORMS no later than 5 PM CST, Friday, March 7, 2008.

Please do not attempt to pre-match with a candidate.  Pre-matching is defined as you or any individual associated with your program telling a candidate, "I (we) will list you as #1 if you will list me (us) as #1," or any type of agreement that means the same as the above.  You may express interest in a candidate, in that you say something on the order of, "your interview went well and your credentials are impressive.  I would assume the you will be highly ranked by our program."

After the match, ORMS will publish a list of unmatched programs for candidates who have not matched.  The unmatched list will be published on this web site as soon as all match participants are officially notified of their status.  This should help candidates locate programs that are of interest.  The "pool" list of candidates who did not match will continue to be disseminated to programs that have unfilled positions.  When you match after the official match, please notify ORMS so that the list of unmatched programs can be updated.

When you match with a candidate, you should contact the in-coming resident, make arrangements for generating the letter of commitment and begin processing paperwork for their residency training.
